Mosher Center Team

Jessica Suzanne Mosher, MD

Dr. Mosher and her Mohs team have been together for over 15 years. They have masterfully earned their reputation as “Best of Boston”. Boston Magazine and Castle Connolly placed Dr. Mosher and her team on their Top Doctors list in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 for Mohs Surgery.

Dr. Mosher completed her fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery under Suzanne Olbricht at Lahey Clinic/Harvard Medical School–who was the 2023 recipient of the Fred Mohs Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor granted in the American College of Mohs Surgery.

Prior to opening their state of the art Mohs Center in Wellesley Hills, Dr. Mosher served as the Director of Mohs Surgery at a private practice in Wellesley for 7 years, as well as established the Mohs department at Atrius Health. She and her award-winning team of 15 years have built a highly successful Mohs surgical practice and have treated over twenty thousand skin cancers during their tenure together. They couldn’t be more excited to continue to deliver care in their brand new practice, the Mosher Center!

At the Mosher Center, we understand that surgery for skin cancer–especially on sensitive areas such as the face, can be a frightening experience. Dr. Mosher is an expert surgeon with a meticulous eye for unparalleled aesthetic outcomes. Many of her patients seek her out because they feel her repairs and long-term results are far superior than the industry standard.

Dr. Mosher’s reassuring manner, and her team’s expertise, can relax even the most apprehensive of patients. Many patients report that their surgery was easy and comfortable, and many have commented that the team made the day enjoyable and that they actually “had fun!”

In addition to her clinical appointments, Dr. Mosher is part of the consulting staff at Newton Wellesley Hospital. She lectures and teaches on Mohs surgical techniques on a local and national level.

Dr. Mosher is a member of the following professional societies:

Tina Suatengco

I’m a surgical histotechnologist and a surgical assistant. I’ve been working in Mohs for nearly 20 years, and 15 of these with Dr. Mosher. I take the cancerous tissue and process it in the laboratory by freezing and carefully taking thin sections on our cryostat. Then the tissue moves through a variety of stains that help highlight tumor cells. Dr. Mosher then reads the slides and determines if there is any more tumor left to remove. While I really enjoy this part of my job, I am even more passionate about working directly with patients. Unlike many histotechnologists, I also serve as a surgical scrub technician, which means I assist Dr. Mosher with the plastic surgery repairs after the skin cancers have been removed.  I like to make patients feel at ease, comfortable, and relaxed during their procedures. When necessary, I scrub in to assist with the plastic surgical repairs. In addition, whenever Dr. Mosher wants a terrific bandage for the patients, she calls for me!

When I’m not at work I love to travel and spend quality time with my family, my dog Cruiser, and my husband Tim.

Sharon Shasso, RN

I grew up in Massachusetts, where I enjoyed playing lacrosse. A passion for hard work and medicine runs in my family - my sister and I are both nurses. I started as a surgical technician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center before transitioning into my RN role for four years in the Emergency Room. Then, I realized my passion for Mohs and returned to the Mohs unit. I am proud to have 25 years and counting of clinical Mohs experience.

I have worked with Dr Mosher for the past 14 years. Our team provides unparalleled care to our surgical patients with special attention to cosmetic reconstruction. What sets us apart is that we function as a cohesive unit given that we have worked together for 14-25 years, and share a passion for outstanding clinical care. Having surgery can be frightening, but we make it an enjoyable experience for patients.

We meet our patients where they need to be met- whether that be by chatting them through the case, listening to music together, or hearing stories about their families, we always come out at the end having learned something new about them, and often just about life. There is no greater gift in medicine these days than having time to spend with our patients - while awake - and Mohs provides that unique opportunity.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 children mostly in hockey rinks. I also enjoy exercising and being outdoors.

Natalie Santaniello, RN

I grew up in Arizona where i enjoyed playing sports and doing outdoor activities. Born and raised in Arizona, I moved from Scottsdale to Boston in 2015. I have three kids, a son and two daughters. My son attends UMiami, my daughter will be attending TCU in the fall of 2025. My littlest is currently in 9th grade.

I attended the University of Flagstaff in Northern Arizona where I studied nursing. After graduation, I resided in Scottsdale, AZ where I worked in telemetry before being recruited by Johnson & Johnson’s surgical sales division, Ethicon-Endo Surgery. I was very fortunate to work with expert surgeons from the Mayo Clinic to the Veterans Hospital in all surgeries from bariatric to tonsillectomies.

When I was 25, just after graduating from nursing school, I had a melanoma on my back. At the time, the doctors wanted to have a plastic surgeon perform what they called a butterfly procedure to excise all the lymph nodes in the back and replace with pig skin. It was frightening to say the least. Thankfully, I saw a Mohs specialist and he was able perform surgery before it spread. Today, working for Dr. Mosher, i really understand what each one of the patients are going through. I enjoy working as a nurse and helping patients throughout their care.

I am also into health, wellness, fitness and love the aesthetic field. I enjoy learning and exploring all the new technologies and modalities in the aesthetic industry, from Botox to Laser treatments. I find it fascinating that we have so many great options to keep ourselves at not only optimum health, but looking and feeling great as we age.

Gap Year Program

Since 2017, we have been training collegiate graduates as surgical assistants in our Mohs practice. These students spend one to two years working in the Mohs environment, learning everything about pre-surgical, surgical and post surgical care. They learn how to educate patients about Mohs, complete medical histories, bandage patients, remove sutures, provide wound care instructions and even begin to make their own clinical assessments. They learn A-to-Z essentials about taking medical histories and a broad array of clinical topics not limited to dermatology and dermatologic surgery.

Given Dr. Mosher’s background in internal medicine and years of experience teaching medical students, residents and fellows in academic centers, our gap year students uniformly report that they are light-years ahead when they reach their medical school clinical rotations nearly 2/3 of our graduates have gone onto surgical careers and state that it was their time with us that was most influential in that decision.

This training program is rigorous and only fully-committed premedical students with a surgical orientation, who have already completed or about to complete their MCATs, should apply. Applications open in December for work beginning the following June. Applications are available under Handshake. Students may also reach out directly via email here.

Interested students should send an email inquiry along with a CV, transcript and two letters of recommendation.
